ingredients
50ml olive oil
1 onion, peeled and diced
3 cloves garlic peeled and crushed
2 x 400g Cirio chopped tomatoes
1 tsp dried oregano
12 dry cannelloni
12 thin beef sausage skin removed
pinch of nutmeg
1 small bunch basil torn
salt and pepper
Topping
pinch grated nutmeg
2 balls mozzarella sliced
50g grated parmesan
Preparation
- Pre heat the oven to 180c
- In a pan fry the onion garlic in oil for 5 minutes then add all the tinned tomatoes, oregano nutmeg and basil bring to the boil then simmer for 5 minutes, season. Spoon ½ into an oven proof dish.
- Fill each cannelloni tube with a sausage and place onto the sauce then top with the rest of the sauce dot with mozzarella grate over parmesan and bake for 45 minutes. Drizzle in extra olive oil if desired.
